Dynamics of the Role
PR & Corporate Communication at TransUnion CIBIL works alongside B2B & Events Marketing and D2C Marketing to form the Marketing function in India, and aligns with the global Communication and Corporate Affairs vertical. TransUnion CIBIL is India’s first and pioneer credit information company. As a Systemically Important Entity, it touches the lives of millions of individuals and businesses. It is a leader in overall Share of Voice (SOV) in the media, research reports and consumer awareness. This role will support the ambitious, fast-paced and exciting PR agenda of the company by contributing to strategy as well as execution. Through established and innovative PR elements, it will work to strengthen the company’s reputation in the above areas. The role will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders including agencies. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
The PR team member will be a critical member of the PR & Corporate Communication sub-function with the Marketing function with responsibilities to:
- Assist the team in developing and implementing the agreed PR plan for the year
- Develop compelling content and messaging to support the PR and Corporate Communication program
- Contribute to and own deliverables including but not limited to creating and managing press releases, media notes, talking points and briefing notes, press conference arrangements, presentations, website content, customer communication content, articles, videos, Q&A, and more.
- Contribute to the development of CXO leadership profiles through social media and blogs, and working with the PR agency to procure external speaking opportunities for CXOs to enhance thought leadership
- Contribute to managing crisis communication in adherence with the agreed approach and internal protocols
- Work with the PR agency towards enhancing the company’s reputation with due recognition for its work through external awards
- Work with the consumer marketing, compliance, legal and other teams as applicable to complete RBI submissions, agreements, timely checking of policies and work-related SOPs as guided, and invoices related to the PR & Corporate Communication team’s work
- Ensure complete adherence to all internal and external protocols as laid down for the PR & Corporate Communication team by the company, including but not limited to approvals by various teams, ensuring factual and accurate information, alignment as applicable with the India and global teams.
- Develop strong relationships, and proactively coordinate and work with internal and external stakeholders as needed, especially as part of cross-functional projects
- Own and manage agreed success metrics and report on progress on an ongoing basis as stipulated
- Work with and help oversee the activities of the PR agency
- Help with other amplification channels and activities, support other teams as needed
- Develop strong relationships with colleagues at various levels throughout the organization
- Ensure a well-planned cadence of content which is curated, updated, on-brand, and is consistent in terms of quality and tone of voice for media channels.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
- Post-graduate in Mass Communication or any social sciences or humanities (preferred)
- 6+ years of experience in a similar role
- Experience and familiarity with work in the BFSI sector or a highly regulated sector (preferred, though not essential)
- Ability to understand the business landscape and learn
- Demonstrated familiarity and experience in PR & Corporate Communications work
- Demonstrated record of delivery of meaningful PR work in a timely and compliant manner
- Ability to co-develop and execute an integrated PR and Communications strategy
- Ability to work with and steer external agencies
- Familiarity with social media channels, measurement of PR delivery
- Strong writing and content development skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships
- High-energy, willingness to work within an agile and dynamic atmosphere, adapt and learn
- Willingness to constantly track and understand best practice in PR & Corporate Communication in order implement in daily work
