As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of mobile developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality project delivery
- Oversee the entire mobile application development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
- Advocate for and implement continuous improvement practices, including code refactoring and process enhancements.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in Software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Experience in native mobile development for either Android or iOS.
- Experience leading technology projects.
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in Java and Kotlin for Android or Swift for iOS.
- Expert in architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture.
- Proficient in reactive programming using RxJava, Coroutines, and Flow for Android or Combine for iOS.
- Experience with networking technologies, including RESTful APIs, Retrofit, and OkHttp.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Understand mobile applications performance tuning, profiling tools, and optimization techniques.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical support and knowledge sharing.
