About the role

Please note, this team is hiring across multiple levels and candidates are individually assessed and appropriately leveled based upon their skills and experience.

The Netskope Data Security team is focused on providing unrivaled visibility and real-time data protection. Our products ensure that customer’s data is protected wherever it lives. Our engineers work on architecting, designing, and delivering the next generation of highly scalable, effective, and high-performance data loss prevention solutions. You will have the opportunity to build best-in-class data security solutions using different technologies including cutting edge algorithms, LLMs and ML-based models while working with a talented and experienced team of software engineers in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

To be successful in this role you must possess strong technical acumen as well as have a passion for leading teams in delivering highly effective, scalable and high-performance software solutions in a timely manner.  As a member of the Netskope Data Security team, you will manage an engineering team and contribute to the growth of our market leading Data Security services where you will design and deliver software solutions required for the next generation of content inspection and data protection.

Finally, it is expected that you will be able to prioritize initiatives, manage projects, and communicate clear updates to stakeholders.


What you will be doing

  • Managing, coaching, mentoring and encouraging the growth and career progress of team members.
  • Collaborating with team members and product managers to lead the design, development and delivery of data security services in a distributed environment.  Responsibility for full software development life cycles.
  • Architecting and developing software and systems focused on resilience, monitoring, and self healing.
  • Building, maintaining and monitoring infrastructure across development and production environments. Ensure systems are highly scalable, secure, and reliable.  


Required skills and experience

  • 10+ years of industry experience building high-performance, scalable, and secure dataplane services.
  • 3+ years of experience managing development teams.
  • A proven history of building high-performance teams, and proficiency in defining effective engineering processes to accelerate the delivery of business results.
  • Experience developing and maintaining distributed cloud services.
  • Programming mastery of C++ or Golang (Experience with Python, and C).  The ability to suggest coding best practices and provide effective code review feedback.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture such as multi-threading, CPU scheduling, and memory management.
  • A solid understanding of algorithms and data structures to implement software solutions responsible for real-time inline data processing.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed system issues.
  • Customer focus and willingness to roll up your sleeves and respond to the needs of customers proactively and promptly.
  • Experience and knowledge of TCP, SSL, HTTP, and SMTP protocols and REST Services.
  • Passion and hands-on experience developing data security solutions is a plus.
  • Inspire out of the box thinking to solve challenging problems.
  • Working knowledge of regular expression syntax and tools is a plus.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with developing and deploying software to GCP, AWS, Azure.
  • Experience in CI/CD using tools like Drone, Jenkins, or other similar technologies.
  • Proponent of TDD a big plus and a knowledge of various unit testing frameworks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate in an open, transparent and consistent manner with team and co-workers.


Education

  • BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred
