About Our Group: The Hardware R&D department is responsible for developing all Applied Materials PDC machines that perform optical and electron microscopy. Our tools are essential for inspecting semiconductor wafers during the microchip fabrication process.Key Responsibilities:
  • Design mechanical components, including structural elements, pneumatic systems, vacuum systems, manual and motorized mechanisms, filtration systems, and cooling systems for clean room environments.
  • Conduct CAE simulations and analyses for design validation and troubleshooting.
  • Create detailed drawings, define fabrication processes, materials, and finish standards with comprehensive GD&T, and perform complex tolerance analyses.
  • Plan and execute experiments to validate designs.
  • Lead the mechanical aspects of the development process, present design reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, product manufacturing, field support, and suppliers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical Engineering with 7- 10 years of mechanical design experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD software; experience with SolidWorks and Inventor is an advantage.
  • Experience with CAE software for structural, modal, thermal, and flow analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles.
  • Expertise in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with fast-paced projects requiring innovative thinking.
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and quick learner, with eagerness to learn and explore new topics.
  • Work planning experience, organized, target oriented.
  • Able to run multiple projects in parallel, in house or through subcontractors.
  • High presentation skills and fluency in English.
