eBay's Risk team is responsible for building and maintaining critical systems that protect our company’s buyers and sellers. This team’s charter is to build innovative products that mitigates risk and prevents fraud. You will design and build products that identify suspicious patterns, analyze data, and respond to emerging threats. This role often involves collaborating with other teams like product, policy owners, compliance, and trust & safety to create a safe and secured marketplace.


Key responsibilities:
  • Design and build a distributed system with high security, high transaction rate and high availability.

  • Collaborate with architects in defining the technical charter for eBay’s Risk products.

  • Work with partners to clarify requirements and deliver business solutions.

  • Champion standard methodologies within software development including the use of AI in code development and delivery.

  • Work closely with parters located in various locations.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field, or relevant experience considered.

  • Software development experience of at least 2-4 years.

  • Proven foundation in computer science with strong proficiencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.

  • Excellent knowledge in architectural and design patterns, open-source platforms, frameworks, technologies, and software engineering methodologies.

  • Hands-on experience in Java/Node.js/C++ or any object oriented language used in building scalable applications.

  • Experience developing data-driven applications using an industry standard RDBMS and NoSQL.

  • Working in resolving bottlenecks and improving system performance

  • Working to solve issues in distributed systems

  • Abundant knowledge on large scale distributed systems

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

  • Hardworking and self-motivated
