The Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst performs technical analysis of system issues and outages as they occur in Huron network. This individual then performs research to troubleshoot and resolve the issue or, depending upon complexity, escalates the issue to higher-level systems administrators and network engineers. The NOC Analyst is responsible for researching and documenting various mitigation strategies and must maintain current and thorough knowledge of Huron technologies and our significance to customer operations. This individual must be able to prioritize remediation of issues in a 24 x 7 environment with critical uptime requirements. The NOC analyst may also perform basic system administration tasks such as network/system troubleshooting, patching operating systems and applications, and executing various scripts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, with 3+ years of experience supporting and monitoring network systems, servers, or storage in an enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of network monitoring protocols (SNMP, NetFlow, WMI, syslog) and expertise in Microsoft server operating systems and Cisco network devices.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, networking concepts, event correlation, and analysis, with the ability to absorb technical information quickly.
- Experience with security gateways, VPNs, and networking/router certifications, with prior experience in data center/cloud environments preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, especially in high-stress situations when interacting with customers and technical personnel.
- Ability to support 24/7 operational environments, perform basic system tasks, and assist multiple technical teams with varying shift schedules.
Preferences:
- Basic Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications (CCNA, MCITP), and experience monitoring VMware clusters in high-availability environments.
- Proficient in using various monitoring and ticket management tools, with experience in providing remote support using virtual desktop tools.
