As a Vice President in New Client Onboarding, you will promote your team's performance to achieve high productivity and outstanding standards of quality in KYC reviews. You will manage officers and analysts to achieve high performance while ensuring staff compliance to global/local policies and guidelines. You will be responsible for installing appropriate controls to monitor quality of KYC reviews and report deficiencies; bridging knowledge gaps and developing employees to advance in their role. To be successful, you must have a proven track record of effective leadership relative to managing employees involved in different steps of a process and change management.
Job responsibilities:
- Manage the team's daily work volumes, ensuring tasks are completed within established deadlines and in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
- Oversee team performance against key metrics and performance objectives, consistently helping the team meet KYC SLAs.
- Complete ad hoc KYC remediation projects, periodic client reviews, KYC updates, and risk assessments.
- Execute internal initiatives as assigned, coordinating, executing, and reporting initiative updates to management.
- Cultivate an environment of strong teamwork and client focus, overseeing the delivery of an excellent client onboarding experience by team members.
- Meet regularly with Business Managers and Client Onboarding Team Leads to ensure onboarding expectations are met.
- Provide guidance on AML/KYC policy and procedures, presenting solutions to enhance controls across the KYC review process.
- Lead preparedness for audits and exams, acting as the key person in discussions and file reviews.
- Assist in defining milestones, executing, and closing action/project plans, ensuring adherence to firm-wide control policies.
- Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback through informal discussions, quarterly/semi-annual performance meetings, and the annual review process.
Recruit, train, and develop talent. - Investigate, follow up, and resolve escalated onboarding client issues and problems through effective collaboration with COB business partners, Business Managers, COB Team Leads, and KYC composers.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial industry.
- Experience in KYC/AML is required.
- Proven experience managing a team of high-performing individuals.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, effective in a team setting, self-starter, able to operate with minimal oversight, and committed to consistent quality.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint).
- Knowledge of project management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is essential
