The Role

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain OMEGAMON monitoring infrastructure.

• Monitor health of z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, and storage subsystems.

• Develop automated alerting and event correlation.

• Create dashboards and operational reporting.

• Support proactive detection of performance degradation.

• Integrate monitoring data with AIOps and Bridge analytics initiatives.

• Automation Concepts

• AIOps Integration

• Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019 implementation and management

• VMware ESX experience

• Public/private cloud management. Especially migration from onprem to cloud solution

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• IBM OMEGAMON or IBM Z Monitoring certifications. 

• Experience with IBM Z Monitoring Suite, IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM), and IBM NetView. 

• Knowledge of IBM Z AIOps, Watson AIOps, or similar AIOps platforms. 

• Experience integrating monitoring data with Splunk, Elastic, Grafana, or enterprise analytics tools. 

• Familiarity with System Automation for z/OS (SA z/OS) and automation frameworks. 

• Knowledge of z/OSMF, Parallel Sysplex, and IBM Z infrastructure. 

• Experience with REXX, JCL, and automation scripting. 

• Understanding of CICS, Db2, IMS, MQ, and enterprise storage performance monitoring. 

• Experience with ITIL Incident, Problem, and Event Management processes. 

• Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. 

• Experience supporting 24×7 mission-critical enterprise production environments. 

• Ability to mentor team members and contribute to monitoring strategy and continuous service improvement initiatives.

• Automation experience, especially IaaS (infrastructure as a code)

• Vulnerability management

• Microsoft Active Directory and federation services
