About the role
As an Operations Support Engineer at HPE, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting HPE’s suite of cybersecurity applications and infrastructure. Using your technical skills in Linux, containerized environments, and enterprise application support, you’ll help keep HPE’s global cybersecurity ecosystem running securely and at peak performance.
About You
You will have expertise in Enterprise IT operations, knowledge of operating systems, scripting, networking, and automation platforms. Your skills will enhance system performance, reliability, and security posture across a large, distributed enterprise. You will work both independently and partner with cross-regional teams across AMS, APJ, and EMEA to deliver high-impact projects in a dynamic global environment.
Strong communication skills are essential, enabling you to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
What you’ll do:
Responsibilities:
- Providing operational support for key cybersecurity applications and services (e.g. SIEM, Vulnerability scanners, Data Ingestion, Email Security, Knowledgebase systems and threat monitoring platforms).
- Monitoring system performance, availability, and health across virtualized and containerized environments.
- Performing incident triage, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to maintain system stability.
- Executing regular maintenance tasks such as patching, upgrading, and configuration management of applications and infrastructure components.
- Collaborating closely with cybersecurity engineers, infrastructure, and network teams to optimize platform performance and uptime.
- Documenting configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures for operational continuity.
- Automating recurring operational tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python and automation tools such as Ansible.
- Participating in on-call rotations and incident response efforts as required.
- Sharing findings and status updates with key stakeholders to inform operational decisions and security improvements.
What you need to bring:
Education and Experience Required:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related discipline or equivalent experience desired.
- 3+ years of experience supporting Linux and/or Windows servers in virtualized and containerized environments.
- Strong knowledge of application/database troubleshooting, operating systems, networking, and incident management.
- Familiarity with patching, upgrading, and maintaining enterprise applications and infrastructure components.
- Exposure to cybersecurity tools, threats, and vulnerabilities in large organizations is a plus.
- Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or PowerShell preferred.
- Understanding of enterprise networking and network security principles.
- The following certifications are desired. [EG: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Certified Vulnerability Assessor (GCVA), or equivalent.
Additional Information:
- On-call rotation is approximately one week every eight weeks.
- Early shift work may be occasionally required (starting at 6 AM local time).
