The P&O Manager India will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth strategy in India by leading and managing HR operations, ensuring alignment with global HR policies, and adapting these policies to fit local legislation and cultural nuances. Reporting directly to the Senior Director People Operations & Rewards, the P&O Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support local business plans, enhancing employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with all local labor laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities and accountability

  • In order to be successful in this role and enable Cognite to grow in India, we expect you to be responsible for the following:

  • Policy Adaptation and Compliance:

  • Adapt and implement global HR policies to comply with Indian labour laws and cultural expectations. Ensure 100% compliance with all local employment regulations, reducing legal risks and fostering a positive work environment.

  • Retention:

  • Implement effective onboarding, training, and career development programs to support employee engagement and career progression in line with global processes.

  • Employee Relations and Cultural Integration:

  • Develop and maintain strong employee relations, addressing issues promptly and effectively. Foster a work culture that aligns with both global company values and local cultural practices, enhancing employee satisfaction and productivity.

  • HR Operations and Process Improvement:

  • Manage HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and HR information systems. Drive process improvements to enhance HR service delivery, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Support Local Business Plans:

  • Collaborate with local business leaders to understand and support their HR needs, aligning HR initiatives with local business plans. Provide guidance and support for organizational change, workforce planning, and talent management strategies.

We believe most of these should match your background and experience

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 5-8 years relevant work experience
  • Experience from Global company structure or GCC. Tech industry/SaaS background is an advantage. Experience from a scale-up journey is also an advantage, but not required.
  • Proven experience establishing and evolving strategic HR initiatives and processes
  • Proven experience in ensuring compliance with local regulations and managing global governance frameworks.
  • Experience with project-based ways of working, in a matrix organization
  • Proficiency in Excel 
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant HR tools and systems
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to adapt and be innovative
