Performance Test Engineer (Gremlin Chaos Engineering and JMeter)
Software Requirements:
- Proficiency in performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar
- Strong understanding of chaos engineering principles and practical experience using Gremlin
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Groovy
- Familiarity with distributed systems architecture, cloud services, and microservices
Overall Responsibilities:

Performance Testing:
- Design, develop, and execute performance test plans to ensure system reliability and scalability
- Utilize Gremlin for chaos engineering to simulate failures and test system resilience under various conditions
- Create and maintain performance testing frameworks and scripts using industry-standard tools

Analysis and Optimization:
- Analyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement
- Monitor application performance in real-time and respond to incidents as they arise

Collaboration and Integration:
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate performance testing into the CI/CD pipeline
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure performance testing is aligned with business and technical requirements
Technical Skills:
Performance Testing:
- Proficiency in tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar for performance testing
Chaos Engineering:
- Strong understanding of chaos engineering principles
- Practical experience using Gremlin to simulate and manage failures
Scripting and Automation:
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Groovy for automation and performance test development
System Architecture:
- Familiarity with distributed systems architecture, cloud services, and microservices
Analytical Skills:
- Strong capabilities in analyzing system performance metrics and logs to derive insights
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in performance engineering and testing
- Proven experience in performance engineering with a focus on chaos testing
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Design, develop, and execute performance test plans to ensure system reliability and scalability
- Utilize Gremlin for chaos engineering to simulate failures and test system resilience under various conditions
- Analyze performance test results and identify bottlenecks
- Provide actionable recommendations for improvement based on performance data

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
