The RoleWe are currently seeking a full-time, highly professional engineer to join our Communications (COMMS) and SCADA applications team.COMMS/SCADA Application Engineers are responsible for supporting SCADA communications integration and on active and incoming customer projects. This position requires the engineer to work closely with project teams to understand system requirements and use cases. This also requires collaboration with development staff to troubleshoot and diagnose root causes of communication errors.
Success in this role requires becoming the subject matter of OSI’s COMMS and SCADA products, from being able to setup, configure, test, troubleshoot them as well as help design to ensure we have the correct implementation on projects. They also have good working knowledge of RTU protocols, ICCP and OPC communication exchanges. Your Impact
- Technical lead to communication solutions for customer-specific needs.
- Prepare design documents detailing the proposed solution to meet those requirements.
- Approver of COMMS and SCADA designs submitted by project teams.
- Creation of guides and maintain a knowledgebase for COMMS and SCADA product setup and deployment.
- Go-to subject matter expert for communication solutions, and integration with customer RTUs, Front-ends, communication infrastructure, and inter-control center data exchange.
- Provide COMMS and SCADA implementation guidance and assistance to project teams.
- Provide guidance to communication cutover plans for active projects.
- Maintain standards for COMMS and SCADA solutions.
Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field.
2+ years relevant work experience.
Experience with SCADA and/or OT systems.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites.
Ability to work independently, effectively manage time, and prioritize strategically.
Experience with communication protocols such as IEC 104, IEC 101, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, ICCP, OPC preferred.
