As a Principal/Lead Electronics Engineer – Embedded Hardware, your roles and responsibilities include:

1. Vehicle Electronics Architecture
  • Design, build and bring into production high performance electronics hardware such as vehicle control units, display clusters, telematics that include RF circuits, and sensor electronics.
  • Extract requirements from different component systems, firmware systems, software systems and vehicle systems to define architectures for high-speed electronic design of control units and telematics.
  • Develop and maintain system-level schematics, interface definitions, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UART, SPI, I2C).
2. Embedded Systems Design
  • Design the architecture and native hardware using high-speed, high-performance microprocessors and micro-controllers for supporting automotive OS, graphics, vision systems, audio systems, radar/LIDAR systems.
  • Architect and design/validate connected vehicle systems including GNSS, LTE, BLE and Wi-Fi.
  • Lead the design, development and integration of embedded hardware for vehicle functions such as lighting, indicators, horn, immobiliser, cluster and IMUs.
  • Collaborate with firmware teams to define hardware-software interfaces, bootloaders, and OTA update mechanisms.
3. Diagnostics & Compliance
  • Develop and implement UDS-based diagnostics, fault logging, and service tools.
  • Ensure compliance with AIS-004, ISO 26262, and other relevant automotive manufacturing and design standards.
4. Testing & Validation
  • Define and execute test plans for bench-level and vehicle-level validation.
  • Use tools like Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, ETAS INCA, oscilloscopes, network/spectrum analysers for debugging and validation.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with mechanical, software, powertrain, wire-harness, and UX teams to ensure system-level integration.
  • Work with cloud and mobile app teams to ensure real-time data streaming, diagnostics, and remote-control features.
