Principal Embedded Software Engineer

As a Principal Embedded Software Engineer you will be trusted to work on exciting and challenging projects, applying your skills to design, develop, integrate, and test computer-controlled electromechanical devices in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) environment. As a member of our team, you will work with the latest technologies and software development principles . You will create object-oriented designs and implementation in C++ and deploy them in RTOS-based multi-threaded applications. This role will be in Bangalore.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Mentor and oversee the technical realization of solutions develop by junior team members.

• Develop cutting-edge software, comprising of re-usable components, for embedded systems based on requirements and specifications

• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks, including off-the-shelf lab equipment, to exercise both hardware and software designs

• Create software documentation that is user-friendly and technically accurate

• Conduct thorough software testing and debugging to ensure that our systems meet the highest standards

• Collaborate with other software engineers and hardware engineers to ensure that software and hardware work seamlessly together

• Participate in code and design reviews

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years of hands-on embedded software development experience

• Experience with medical device software lifecycle and industry best practices is a plus

• Project management experience is a plus

• Proficiency in C targeting embedded Microcontrollers (Example: STM32, NXP Kinetis, NXP S32K, or similar)

• Object Oriented design patterns and implementation in C++ are highly desired

• Experience with RTOS-based applications and designing multi-threaded applications

• Strong debugging skills at component-level designs on the PCBA or within an integrated product

• Understanding of electronic circuitry: board bring-up and interfacing with on and off chip peripherals such as SPI, UART, I2C, ADC, and DAC

• Experience in using lab equipment (logic analyzers, in-circuit emulators, oscilloscopes, and DVMs) to debug and troubleshoot designs

• Experience in using static analysis, unit testing, and other tools/methods to produce high-quality implementations

• Experience with Makefiles and/or Python for general-purpose scripting

• Experience using Git

• Experience with GPIB, SCPI, LXI and VISA test automation protocols and with test frameworks such as NI TestStand is highly desirable

• Experience with Cmake for embedded applications is highly desirable
