Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Feasibility analysis during Architecture phase

  • Design hardware that meet requirements

  • Schematic entry, BoM release, support layout engineer and support MFG team during prototyping

  • Proven track record of leading and managing complex hardware projects from conception to high-volume production.

  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment and foster effective collaboration.

  • Adept at debugging and resolving complex hardware issues at the system level . Debug field issues of released products

  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis and effectively debug intricate system-level hardware issues.

  • Foster a collaborative environment by clearly communicating complex hardware concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including software, firmware, and manufacturing teams.

  • Mentor and guide junior hardware engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

  • Champion the development and adherence to industry best practices and hardware design standards.

  • Collaborate effectively with external vendors and partners to guarantee seamless hardware integration within Infinera's solutions.

  • Manage assigned budgets and schedules to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to ensure project continuity and knowledge transfer.

Required Skills:

  • Proven track record designing PCBs with optical modules (SFP, QSFP, QSFP28, QSFP-DD, etc.)

  • Expertise in designing systems using various processors and programmable logic devices: Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, FPGAs, CPLDs, and ASICs

  • Strong understanding of high-speed interfaces: Including 112G/56G PAM4, 28G NRZ, PCIe, DRR4, SATA, USB, and SGMII

  • Knowledge of memory technologies: DDR, NAND, NOR, etc.

  • Power supply design with Lower voltage and High current density

  • Familiarity with Agile in Hardware and Jira tool

  • Experience with OTN processors/framers a plus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in hardware design and development for the communications industry.

  • Demonstrated expertise in board design principles and practices, encompassing high-speed signal integrity and power integrity concepts.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to audiences with varying technical backgrounds.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard hardware design tools (EDA tools, simulation tools, etc.).

    • Experience with Concept HDL schematic Entry Tool and Linux Systems

The list of applicable countries in Country Group D:1, E:1 or E:2 may be updated by the U.S. government from time to time. The current processing time for an export control license is approximately 4 to 6 months.
