We seek a highly skilled and experienced Principal Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. This position is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of RHEL, KVM, and OpenStack environments. The candidate will be instrumental in integrating new hardware, debugging, supporting open-source software, and leading a team of platform engineers to ensure efficient and innovative platform solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers in the development, implementation, and optimization of platform solutions.
- Oversee the integration of new hardware into existing networks and systems while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Debug and provide expert-level support for OpenStack and other open-source platforms.
- Develop and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and other tools to facilitate seamless delivery of software products.
- Design and implement robust database solutions using PostgreSQL.
- Ensure the security and stability of platform architecture through proactive assessment and upgrades.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform engineering strategies with overall business objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in technology, applying insights to drive continuous improvement.
Desired skills & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in platform engineering with a proven track record in a similar leadership role
- Extensive experience with RHEL, KVM, and OpenStack environments.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python and Java.
- In-depth knowledge of Jenkins, delivery pipelines, and PostgreSQL.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of engineers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with various stakeholders and external partners.
Good to have:
- Certifications in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), OpenStack, or similar technologies.
- Experience in developing and supporting large-scale, high-availability platform architectures.
- Familiarity with additional open-source tools and frameworks.
