Your opportunity

SAP Monitoring Team is an Engineering team that develops and supports New Relic’s SAP monitoring Solution Product.  We are seeking a highly organized and hands-on DevOps/Release Engineer to manage the end-to-end release process of our SAP Add-on solutions. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and reliable software deliveries. You will be responsible for tracking progress, packaging releases, maintaining code repositories, updating documentation, coordinating with various development teams, and organizing testing efforts. This role requires a proactive individual with attention to the details and a strong understanding of software development lifecycles and a passion for automation and process improvement. You will be working directly with standard DevOps and support tools, including GitHub, Jenkins, and Jira.


What you’ll do


Release and Project Tracking:

  • Track roadmap features, customer problems/issues, and feature requests within Jira.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to monitor development and release progress, providing regular updates.
  • Assist in prioritizing tasks and managing the release schedule.

Software Packaging and Release:

  • Package and deploy SAP Add-on software releases, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Manage and maintain release artifacts and configurations.
  • Coordinate the deployment of releases to various environments.
  • Utilize Jenkins for automation of build, test, and deployment pipelines.

Code Repository Management:

  • Maintain code repositories and version control in GitHub, ensuring proper branching and tagging strategies.
  • Manage code merges and resolve conflicts as needed.

Documentation and Communication:

  • Update and maintain technical documentation, including installation guides and release notes.
  • Coordinate updates to the documentation website.
  • Communicate release status and updates to stakeholders.

Cross-Team Coordination:

  • Coordinate development efforts with other development teams, including entity teams, Custom UI development, and billing teams.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to ensure seamless integration.

Testing Coordination:

  • Organize and coordinate testing efforts, including integration and regression tests.
  • Work with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and identify and resolve issues.
