As a Process Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor manufacturing technologies. You will collect and analyze data, perform hardware characterization, and troubleshoot engineering issues. You'll also measure film properties, generate technical documentation, and engage with customers to resolve concerns. Process Engineers collaborate with vendors and suppliers, and become familiar with implementing new technologies and products. You will experiment, learn, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the semiconductor and display industries, partnering with our globally recognized R&D teams on state-of-the-art research and development projects.
Responsibilities
Develop analytical models and algorithms that describe OLED evaporation process and device characteristics.
Provide GPM and engineering teams a required system & source configuration per customer’s needs considering the process capabilities of Applied’s OLED evaporator
Identify key design parameters to meet the target specifications and performances, and provide engineering teams the design requirements.
Support process development team members to configure proper HW setup and process conditions for both lab validation and field process activities.
Requirements
Applied Materials Specific Knowledge
Understand the process capability of Applied’s OLED evaporator and its components.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Basic understanding on physics, chemistry, and mathematics
Physical modeling capability particularly in
Vacuum evaporation process
Thin film optics
Electrical characteristics of OLED (or semi-conductor devices)
Geometric modeling capability to analyze vapor flux distribution under geometric constraints
Basic programming skills (e.g., scripting in Excel VBA and/or MATLAB or Python)
Conceptual Skills
Work independently with minimum guidance
Analytical thinking: Quickly outline factors and perspectives affecting a problem, performance, and behavior.
Problem solving: Generate plausible hypothesis and create potential technical solutions.
Communication: Explain complex problems and/or thinking and/or solution ideas in a logical way and interpret them into simple overview as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree in physics or material science or similar qualification
Willing to travel up to 10% and work 5 days in office
