Position Summary

We're looking for a Product Manager, Growth to drive product-led growth initiatives across the Harness platform. You'll be responsible for accelerating user acquisition, activation, engagement, and expansion through data-driven experimentation and strategic product improvements.

This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of product, engineering, data, and go-to-market teams. You'll own the growth funnel, optimize conversion pathways, and build features that help developers discover and adopt Harness's transformative capabilities—without requiring sales intervention.

About the role

Own the Growth Funnel

  • Define and execute Harness's product-led growth strategy across acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion
  • Build a growth roadmap balancing quick wins (conversion optimization) with long-term bets (new growth loops)
  • Track and optimize North Star metrics: activation rate, time-to-value, product-qualified leads (PQLs), expansion revenue

Drive Experimentation

  • Run high-velocity A/B tests and experiments across the user journey
  • Instrument analytics, define success metrics, and translate insights into product decisions
  • Build dashboards to measure impact and communicate results to leadership

Improve Self-Serve Experience

  • Optimize signup, onboarding, and time-to-first-value for freemium and trial users
  • Reduce friction: simplify setup, shorten time-to-deploy, clarify value propositions in-app
  • Build growth loops: invite flows, usage-triggered expansions, viral mechanics

Expand and Monetize

  • Drive free-to-paid conversion through packaging, pricing, and in-product upgrade prompts
  • Identify expansion opportunities (seat growth, module upsell, usage-based expansion)
  • Partner with Sales and CS to optimize the PLG-to-sales handoff

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  • Work with Engineering to rapidly ship growth experiments
  • Partner with Marketing on demand gen, messaging, and lifecycle campaigns
  • Align with Data/Analytics on instrumentation and user behavior analysis
  • Work with Sales/CS on PQL scoring and expansion playbooks
About you
  • 5+ years in product management, with 2+ years focused on growth, PLG, or self-serve products
  • Proven track record driving measurable growth outcomes (activation, conversion, expansion ARR)
  • Experience at a B2B SaaS company; developer tools or DevOps background strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of PLG principles: AARRR framework, growth loops, freemium models, viral mechanics
  • Strong analytical skills: comfortable with SQL, product analytics tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap), experimentation platforms
  • Technical fluency: understanding of developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native infrastructure
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience at a PLG-native company (Atlassian, Slack, Figma, GitHub, Notion, Dropbox)
  • Familiarity with usage-based pricing or consumption business models
  • Background in developer marketing or community-led growth
  • Experience with AI-powered growth features (personalization, recommendations)
