About the role

As the Product Manager for Procurement Tech (S2P) within Enterprise Applications, you will be accountable for leading and working with the Procurement product team to define, implement and optimize our Procurement solutions across Haleon, in line with the priorities of our Procurement business teams within the Source to Pay value stream and to maximize value for money over the lifecycle of the various products. 

Another key responsibility of the role is managing one of our 3rd party Service Teams in part of our operational service to deploy change and release activities, including Software as a Service (SaaS) updates, and ensuring compliance with internal and external audit and compliance requirements. This will require a good understanding of IT Service Management practices, to work with other Product Managers in the team to understand business priorities and communicate progress.

This pivotal role will be a part of our Enterprise Applications Technology team, reporting directly to the Head of Financial Systems.

Qualifications and skills

  • Product Vision, Strategy & Alignment
    • The successful candidate will have advanced skills in anticipating market trends and aligning the solutions used by Procurement operations (inclusive of the Sourcing, Contract Management, Indirect Procurement, Supplier Performance, Category Strategy, Travel & Expense and Workforce Management processes) with overall business goals of our Procurement business teams within the Source to Pay value stream. They will be capable of independently developing and communicating product strategies that drive success. They will actively contribute to the alignment of the product portfolio with business objectives and ensure a shared understanding among stakeholders.
  • Prioritization & Roadmap Planning
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in prioritization and roadmap planning. They will have extensive experience and expertise in setting OKRs that drive organisational success and then tracking progress with precision. They will excel in balancing complex and competing priorities across business needs, tech strategy, and best practice architecture to create a prioritised roadmap that aligns with the overall organisational strategy. They will anticipate future challenges and opportunities, proactively adjusting the roadmap to ensure continued alignment with objectives and maximise value delivery. They will serve as mentors and leaders, guiding others in prioritisation and roadmap planning and driving continuous improvement in these processes.
       
  • Delivery & Execution
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate accountability in overseeing the product development lifecycle for a product portfolio, ensuring on-time and in-budget delivery with a strong focus on quality and efficiency. They will take ownership of identifying and managing dependencies with other teams, demonstrating advanced skills in influencing and coordinating with these teams to prioritise and address dependencies effectively. They will provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and make critical decisions to ensure successful project delivery.
       
  • Measuring Success & Product Evaluation
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced skills in measuring success and product evaluation. They will excel in defining comprehensive success metrics and leveraging sophisticated data analytics tools and methodologies to conduct in-depth analysis of product performance. They will have a deep understanding of user behaviour, product usage patterns, and market trends, allowing them to make strategic decisions to optimise product performance effectively. They will conduct thorough reviews and retrospectives, identifying actionable insights to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
       
  • Product Financial Management & Operations
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced skills in financial acumen and product operations. They will excel in leading and optimising operational activities, managing financial budgets across multiple teams and projects with precision, and ensuring strict alignment with the overarching product strategy. They will have a deep understanding of how financial decisions impact organisational objectives and will consider financial options regarding resource management, considering factors like in-house versus outsourced capabilities.
       
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced skills in extracting actionable insights from diverse datasets, using sophisticated analytical techniques. They are capable of independently leading data-driven initiatives, contributing to the development of data-driven decision-making processes within the product team.
       
  • Product Design
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced skills in product design within the reasonable constraints of the available solutions. They will champion a user-centric approach to product development, ensuring that the customer's perspective remains central to all decision-making processes. They will demonstrate expertise in conducting user research, developing detailed personas, and conducting thorough usability testing to inform design decisions. They collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to translate user insights into innovative and intuitive product designs. They continuously iterate and refine designs based on user feedback and market trends, striving to exceed customer expectations.
       
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis
    • They have advanced skills in staying informed about industry trends and competitors, conducting thorough analyses to inform product strategies. They are capable of independently leading market research initiatives, contributing significantly to identifying opportunities and threats and bringing the outside in.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to review, communicate, and address application performance with business stakeholders, software providers and service providers, adapting their style where necessary to establish an effective communication and performance improvement framework.
  • Leadership & Development:
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced skills in leading and developing direct reports in line with HR and Tech strategies, driving matrix teams when necessary. They will use their experience to support the development of their team, making sound decisions and encouraging motivation, strategic thinking, innovation and action.

Who are we looking for-

  • Exceptional understanding of and exposure to Procurement processes within the end to end Source to Pay value stream
  • 8+ years’ experience of working with enterprise solutions in these areas: Buying Goods & Services; Contract Management; Sourcing; Travel & Expense; Category Management; using tools such as SAP Ariba, Vizibl, SAP Concur, SAP Fieldglass and SAP ECC and/or S/4.
  • Managing change and release activities, including Software as a Service (SaaS) updates & solution integration delivered changes & high adoption of standard integrations, into the relevant environments in a compliant and efficient manner.
  • Proven track record in successful product delivery, via Agile and waterfall delivery methods (e.g., Scrum Inc. Product Owner)
  • Experience of gathering high-level solution & integration requirements and translate them into technical design specs, etc.
  • Experience of working on global deployments (Global / Localization concept)
  • Experience of troubleshooting system issues by identifying root cause and suggesting technical fixes, solutions, or workarounds.
  • Experience working with third parties in the delivery of working products. 
  • Experience of leading & working with teams across diverse countries and cultures effectively, within a large global FMCG or FMCH organization.
  • Understanding of ITIL Frameworks and service management practices for a complex, global service
