Job Title:Product Stewardship Associate II

Summary:This position assures continuity and growth of the business by complying with regulations applicable to the company’s products and business activities. Executes transactional processes to ensure day-to-day compliance with applicable hazard communication regulations associated with raw materials, intermediates and finished products. Responsible for extended Safety Data Sheets, Safety Data Sheet and label generation and maintenance. Participates in the screening of new raw materials and Management of Change (MOC) processes. Provides regulatory approval in the New Product Introduction (NPI), product extension, and product translation processes. This role will provide regulatory support to both internal and external customers and contribute to ongoing implementation and continuous improvement of product safety, hazard communication, and regulatory processes and system support.

Responsibilities Include:

Safety Data Sheets and Label Generation and Maintenance

  • Responsible for the preparation and update of Safety Data Sheets and labels using standard systems and processes and assures that they reflect finished product compositions and properties and comply with regional regulatory requirements for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
  • Responsible for material introduction, classifications and labeling
  • Familiarize themselves with dangerous goods classifications (with SME inputs).
  • Initiate Notification of Change (NOC) processes.
  • Responds to routine customer inquiries using standardized responses and processes, as applicable.
  • Interacts with and responds to global customers, suppliers, and other applicable functions in supporting hazard communication and regulatory compliance needs
  • Develops relationships with key customers (internal and external) to assure effective communication and responses are provided
  • General awareness and understanding in hazard communication legislation and regulation. Initiates necessary actions related to changing chemical regulations in various world regions.

Workflow Approval

  • Provides regulatory approval in the material master workflow for product creation, product extension, and product translation processes by ensuring that the regional hazard communication needs have been satisfied. 
  • Works closely with Product Stewards to assure efficient interfaces with the material master workflow processes, product extensions and product translations across regions.

Product and Substance Data Management / Systems Management

  • Participation in routine testing's to ensure SAP data management and system integrity.
  • Support SDS and Label Template management within SAP.
  • Participate in Change Management processes impacting PS function (MOC / NOC)
  • Data Analysis and Reporting responsibilities to support broader PS team
  • Provide input for potential process improvement projects and testing solutions
     

Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of world class, efficient hazard communication and product regulatory compliance data management systems and interfaces, as per existing legislative requirements or in response to changes.

Professional Development

  • Establish robust development plan and development goals, and track progress quarterly. Includes developing plans for targeted development, attending activities, and debriefing afterward with an action plan.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

Minimum :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology, life science, environmental science, engineering, pharmacy, industrial hygiene or equivalent
  • 4-6 years in Chemical Industry, Product Stewardship and Regulatory Compliance/ Environmental Health and Safety/Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene or other applicable experience
  • Computer literate in standard office systems
  • Good English verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

Preferred :

  • Advance Degree Preferred
  • SAP EHS Module Knowledge
  • Aware of EMEAI / AMR/ APAC Regulatory framework
  • DG Trained / Certified.
  • Demonstrates involvement in projects with optimism, forward-thinking, "can-do" attitude.
