Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with expertise in Playwright or Cypress to join our quality assurance team. In this role, you will develop, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks for web and API testing, ensuring high-quality releases and efficient CI/CD workflows. Working closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams, you will drive test coverage, troubleshoot automation failures, and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve product reliability and accelerate delivery timelines in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Software Requirements
Required: Playwright or Cypress (latest stable versions), JavaScript/TypeScript, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Postman, REST Assured (preferred), SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server), version control practices, automation scripting in JS/TS
Preferred: Other automation tools/frameworks (Katalon, TestCafe), monitoring tools (Grafana, Splunk, ELK Stack), API management tools, cloud integration support (Azure, AWS)
Experience level: 3–7 years of hands-on experience in QA automation for enterprise applications
Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks to support functional, regression, and API testing across web and backend services
Implement automation scripts using Playwright or Cypress, ensuring reliable test execution and high coverage
Collaborate with development, product, and DevOps teams to define test scenarios and automate workflows within CI/CD pipelines
Troubleshoot and analyze automation failures, root causes, and mitigate issues proactively
Support manual testing efforts where automated tests are insufficient and validate critical workflows
Contribute to process improvements by evaluating emerging tools and methodologies
Maintain and update automation documentation, test plans, and best practices
Support deployment activities, validate post-release stability, and assist in continuous integration

Programming Languages:
Essential: JavaScript/TypeScript, automation scripting (Python preferred)
Preferred: Additional scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell) for environment setup and support
Databases/Data Management:
SQL: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server; query building, validation, and data verification
Cloud Technologies:
Basic knowledge of cloud environment configurations (Azure, AWS), supporting automation and testing in cloud-native setups
Frameworks and Libraries:
Playwright, Cypress, REST Assured, Postman, API testing frameworks, monitoring SDKs (Grafana, ELK, Splunk)
Development Tools & Methodologies:
Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum, TDD/BDD (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber)
Security & Protocols:
Understanding of secure API practices, encryption, and authentication standards (OAuth2, JWT)
Experience Requirements
3+ years of experience supporting automation testing in enterprise environments
Proven expertise developing automation scripts for web UI and API testing, with Playwright or Cypress
Experience integrating automation in CI/CD pipelines and managing test environments
Familiarity with SQL database verification and data validation techniques
Industry experience in finance, healthcare, or enterprise IT sectors is preferred; extensive experience supporting large-scale web applications is required
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop, execute, and maintain automation scripts and test frameworks for web and API validation
Troubleshoot and resolve automation failures, fixes, and stability issues
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to prioritize testing activities and integrate automation workflows into CI/CD pipelines
Support manual test case execution to supplement automation efforts for critical workflows
Conduct root cause analysis, document defect reports, and escalate issues effectively
Review and improve test scripts, frameworks, and processes for reliability and efficiency
Monitor automation results, optimize test execution times, and improve test coverage
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in QA automation, supporting enterprise-level web and API testing
Certifications in automation (e.g., ISTQB, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent) are advantageous
Strong troubleshooting, scripting, and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced, agile team
