As a QA Engineer, you'll ensure product quality through automated and manual testing, create test plans, log bugs, and enhance product metrics.
As a QA Engineer, you will primarily work cross functionally with Product and Engineering teams to ensure the quality of the product being shipped. You will be the direct responsible individual to ensure test coverage of all the products through a mix of automated and manual testing. You will work closely with Engineering Leads and Product Managers right from creation of the test plans to their execution followed by logging and reverification.
We are seeking talented individuals to join our team. Your responsibilities as a QA Engineer will include:
- Work closely with Product Managers/Leads/Developers to understand the requirements and work independently with minimum supervision.
- Maximize the test coverage for product features by writing both manual and automated test scripts.
- Build new automation scripts and also enhance the existing test automation scripts.
- Log and document bugs in the defect tracking system.
- Test the application thoroughly with an eye on edge case scenarios, UI anomalies , performance, user experience and usability.
- Test the user stories by going through the acceptance criteria carefully , creating test cases for the same and executing those during the release cycle.
- Be proactive in the testing and keeping all the stakeholders informed.
- Troubleshoot the errors and find out the root cause of the bugs and document the same.
- Enhance testing and product quality metrics by working with other test engineers.
- Review application specification and create documents to identify test scenarios.
What we are looking for:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in automation and manual testing
- Strong knowledge of functional and non functional testing
- Ready to learn and work with new tools, technologies and processes
- Experience in designing/writing automated test scripts that are reusable in existing automation frameworks.
- Must have hands-on experience in UI/API testing( automated/ manual)
- Ability to describe bugs clearly and accurately
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to think critically and creatively in a dynamic environment, while picking up new tools and domain knowledge along the way.
- A positive attitude, and a growth mindset.
Good to have:
- Knowledge of basic CI/CD processes
- Mobile application testing is a plus.
- Hands on experience in load and performance testing using tools like jmeter /load runner etc.
Tools:
- Automation testing tools: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright( preferred)
- Frameworks: BDD - Cucumber, TestNG, RestAssured, Serenity, NodeJs
- API testing tools: Postman, Insomnia
- Continuous Integration tools - Jenkins, Bit bucket, Github, Gitlab/SVN
- Defect tracking and task creation tool - Jira/ Azure
Bonus:
- A passion for gaming =)
- Experience with usability testing
- Experience with Python/java script or other scripting languages
- An ISTQB certification is an advantage.
