We are looking for a hands-on QA Engineer to take ownership of quality, reliability, and test automation for a mission-critical platform handling real insurance claims and financial transactions. This is an opportunity to establish and drive the QA function from the ground up, including test strategy, automation frameworks, CI/CD quality gates, and release processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong automation experience across web, API, database, and integration testing, along with the ability to work closely with engineering, DevOps, product, and business teams.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Define and implement an end-to-end QA strategy covering functional, integration, regression, performance, and automation testing.
- Design and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web applications built with Angular.
- Develop automated UI tests using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or SpecFlow.
- Build and maintain API test automation for .NET Core Web APIs using Postman, RestSharp, or equivalent tools.
- Perform integration testing for microservices communicating through Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Validate application data and business logic using MongoDB and SQL Server.
- Develop and execute performance and load tests using JMeter, k6, or Azure Load Testing.
- Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and establish appropriate quality gates.
- Support security testing activities, including awareness of OWASP Top 10, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing coordination.
- Work with DevOps teams to maintain consistent development, staging, UAT, and production test environments.
- Build, maintain, and optimize regression test suites as the platform evolves.
- Track, investigate, and report defects while supporting effective defect triage and resolution.
- Coordinate UAT activities with business stakeholders and insurance domain specialists.
- Prepare test plans, test cases, automation documentation, and release readiness reports.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve quality risks early.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in QA processes, automation coverage, and engineering quality standards.
- 3+ years of experience in QA Engineering, Software Testing, or Test Automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or SpecFlow.
- Practical experience with API testing using Postman, RestSharp, or equivalent tools.
- Experience testing .NET Core / ASP.NET applications, with knowledge of C# being a strong advantage.
- Experience testing Angular or modern single-page applications.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong database testing skills with the ability to write SQL queries and validate SQL Server and/or MongoDBdata.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and testing distributed systems.
- Experience testing message-driven applications using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms.
- Knowledge of performance and load testing methodologies and tools.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices, sprint-level testing, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with Git, branching strategies, and modern software development workflows.
- Strong defect reporting and test management skills using tools such as Jira or Azure Boards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to independently establish QA processes and take ownership of quality outcomes.
- Experience in regulated domains such as InsurTech, FinTech, banking, payments, or government technology is a strong advantage.
- ISTQB or equivalent QA certification is a plus.
