Senior Principal Software Quality Engineer

Our Software Quality Engineering team ensures that our next-generation software is of the highest quality. We conduct a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that our software meets or exceeds end-user requirements. We debug software products, oversee the development of test plans, ensure system tests are documented, analyze the results, provide feedback to developers and make sure that all problems are resolved. We also select testing specifications for new products and ensure testing procedures comply with industry-specific standards.

What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Principal Software Quality Engineer, you will develop, revise and maintain test plans, test cases and automated test scripts that include resource requirements, schedule assumptions and scope based on pre-determined product requirements. You will work with Product Development, Product Management and the Customer Support teams to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate to develop comprehensive test plans across Dell’s product portfolio. You will also have the opportunity to drive continual process improvements for the evolution of testing procedures and their future replication.
 

You will:
• Deliver effective solutions to complex technical and operational challenges, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ensure alignment with defined cost, delivery, and quality objectives throughout validation, regression, and testing cycles.

• Drive test automation initiatives by developing scalable and maintainable code using modern programming languages and frameworks.

• Apply sound engineering and testing methodologies, using informed judgment to make decisions within established standards and best practices.Take ownership of cross-functional initiatives, working closely with development, product, and architecture groups.

• Utilize proficiency in scripting and automation tools—particularly Python, Bash, and related technologies—to streamline workflows and improve system efficiency.Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

• 12-18 years of experience.Proficiency in at least one mainstream programming language, with a strong preference for Python; experience with Bash, Shell scripting, or other automation tools is an advantage.

• Experience working in Agile environments, contributing to sprint planning, test coverage analysis, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Familiarity with modern testing tools, frameworks, and technologies (e.g., PyTest, Robot Framework, Jenkins, Git, container-based test setups).

• High level of independence and ownership, with the ability to manage priorities and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication skills, enabling clear articulation of technical findings, risks, and recommendations.

Desirable Requirements

• Familiarity with Linux, Windows and VMWare.,Storage Protocols - advantage.

• Familiarity with Automated testing FW - advantage. Leadership skills – advantage.
