As a Pricing Data Analyst within our Reference Data Operations team, you will provide operational support and data management for our Securities Services, Markets, and Asset and Wealth Management businesses. You will manage data quality and exceptions, working closely with professionals across Instrument and Pricing. You will ensure a robust control framework and effective global operating model are in place to service the APAC businesses. This role offers you the chance to provide strategic initiatives and improve reference data operations.
Asset Reference Data Services (ARDS) was created with the mission to help improve the quality, integrity, and reliability of the firm's critical data covering the Instrument and Pricing domains and sits within Securities Services. The organization's objectives are to deliver business impact through fit-for-purpose data, improve data capabilities across multiple lines of businesses (LOBs), implement data controls, and deliver reference data. ARDS establishes expectations that drive consistent data governance practices, develops technologies and processes to support data governance capabilities, partners with LOBs to embed data governance best practices and capabilities, and ensures sustainability by refining, measuring, and improving the ability to manage data.
Job responsibilities:
- Be responsible for following the global operating model is effectively servicing the instrument and pricing requirements for the APAC businesses strongly focused on Securities Services and Markets business at JPMorgan Chase
- Work with the team responsible for the creation/maintenance and management of exceptions of instrument reference data on our core platforms
- Provide subject matter expertise support to downstream teams and clients
- Ensure proper controls are in place to reduce financial risks, implement procedures to enforce controls and ensure controls are adhered to
- Resolve client queries promptly and professionally
- Contribute to ongoing developments of the instrument control process
- Provide coverage for the APAC region, staggered shift work and working on public holidays is required
- Participate in ad-hoc project work when required
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- At least a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Science, Technology or equivalent disciplines
- At least 1 year work experience in Financial Services is required
- Good understanding of broad financial instruments and products required
- Self-motivated and proactive with the proven ability to work accurately and under pressure to meet deadlines
- Good analytical/problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate within a team environment and interact across departments
- Demonstrate customer focus and follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Good market data vendor knowledge/experience, i.e. Bloomberg, Refinitiv is preferred
- Knowledge of industry activities, corporate actions, index tracking and capital markets is preferred
- Ability to analyze, mine and query data to formulate solutions and efficiencies is preferred
- Good understanding of databases, data models and data structures is preferred
- Working knowledge of dashboard tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) preferred
- Working knowledge of data languages (SQL, Python, R) and data management platforms (Denodo, Talend, Alteryx) preferred
- Working knowledge of data tools (OwlDQ, UiPath, MS PowerApps, MS Power Automate) preferred
