The Renewals Specialist plays a crucial role in managing customer contracts, processing renewals, and collaborating with sales teams to ensure timely renewals. This position is highly process-driven and requires keen attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a continuous-improvement mindset. Key responsibilities include supporting operational functions, participating in projects related to order processing, system enhancements, and data quality. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• The Renewals Specialist will drive account renewals early in the customer life cycle, ensuring customers navigate pivotal points to build momentum and value leading up to the renewal.
• Success in this role necessitates a high level of organization and coordination with cross-functional teams, including Customer Success, Account Executives, Legal, Accounting, and others.
• This role encompasses customer-facing interactions as well as backend support related to deal desk activities, including quote creation and contract processing.
• Project management of the renewal experience will be conducted in close partnership with the assigned Customer Success Manager and Account Executive to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• The Renewals Specialist will focus on retaining and increasing subscription revenue within existing customer accounts by effectively positioning multi-year contracts and managing price increases.
• Proactively identifying complex renewal scenarios is essential to maintain a high on-time renewal rate.
• The renewal forecast will be updated weekly and reported to management to track progress and performance.
• Renewal activities will be leveraged to promote upsells and new products in collaboration with Account Executives.
• The Specialist will create client proposals and contracts for all existing customer renewals within their book of business.
• Continuous iteration and feedback on the renewal experience will be encouraged to drive improvements.
Prerequisites:
• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent business experience, is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is necessary.
• Familiarity with accounting ERP systems (such as NetSuite & Salesforce) or prior experience in an accounting environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and details simultaneously in a fast-paced environment is essential.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is required.
• A strong analytical mindset and attention to detail are crucial; a high degree of accuracy is expected.
• The ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, and meet deadlines is vital.
• Flexibility to work extended hours based on business needs is required, which may include every month-end, quarter-end, and year-end, potentially as late as midnight.
