Bright Money is a Consumer FinTech for middle-income consumers. It brings together SaaS products that help consumers build credit, manage their debt, and access suitable loans and credit cards - the major financial needs of middle-income consumers living paycheck to paycheck.
Bright is a profitable, India-built, U.S.-market Consumer FinTech, with a revenue trajectory to $100M in the coming 12 months. The business model combines subscription revenue with financial services marketplace revenue from loans, credit cards, and credit-building tools.
Bright has launched an AI money assistant and AI agentic UX flows for access to credit. It will be the first AI-driven Consumer FinTech for middle-income consumers.
The Bright product suite has potential for global markets beyond the US. The market size is 100M global middle-income consumers, with a revenue pool opportunity of $15B.

Bright was established in 2019 by a leadership team drawn from McKinsey’s Banking Practice (Petko Plachkov and Avi Patchava) and InMobi’s Data Sciences organisation (Varun Modi and Avi Patchava). The core team is ex-InMobi Engineering and Data Sciences, joined more recently by senior leaders from McKinsey. Bright has a data-driven, fast-paced execution culture, and is building a global Consumer FinTech with all functions operating from India.
What is the role about?Lead and drive technical excellence, and deliver scalable distributed systems in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
What will you do?Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable components for Bright's Smart Banking Platform in Django / Python
Own the architecture and design of complex systems or products.
Translate product & business requirements into technical architecture and solutions.
Come up with quick and simple design solutions to complex engineering problems
Project management
Mentor team members
E2E ownership of tech systems and microservices.
Drive technical direction, ensuring alignment with company goals and engineering standards.
Define tech vision and roadmap for your team/module.

Experience with integration and development of REST services over back-end frameworks (such as Django, Node.js)
Strong Algorithm and data structures skill set
Demonstrated ability to share knowledge via formal mentoring, reviewing code, reviewing design documents, providing technical talks, teaching classes, or as a consultant on projects
Experience in HLD and LLD design and developing scalable software systems
Some previous experience in Python-based frameworks
Strong understanding of engineering metrics and processes.
5+ years of demonstrated software development experience
Experience with developing on relational or NoSQL Databases at scale.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with company goals and objectives.
Proficient in analyzing complex problems and synthesizing data to make informed, data-driven decisions in a rapidly evolving environment.
Skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including team members, executives, customers, and partners.
Proficient in fostering collaboration and teamwork across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and shared goals.
