Role Overview:
The Sr Accountant is responsible for overseeing all financial operations in India, including managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, managing internal and external audits, and implementing efficient financial control processes. The role will ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and safeguarding the financial integrity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Management:
- Oversee and manage all accounting functions.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local accounting standards and US GAAP
- Manage financial reporting processes and ensure accurate and consistent financial records.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, and inter-company accounts.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for internal stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Statutory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all Indian statutory and regulatory requirements, including Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax (GST), and other applicable local laws.
- Oversee and ensure timely filing of statutory returns, including Income Tax Returns, GST Returns, and any other required statutory filings
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities regarding statutory audits, tax filings, and dispute resolution.
- Audit and Control:
- Lead internal and external audits, liaising with auditors and ensuring that audits are conducted effectively and efficiently.
- Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and safeguard company assets.
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting procedures, internal controls, and processes and drive operational efficiencies.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on financial performance, with variance analysis and recommendations for management.
- Support business leaders with financial insights, key metrics, and decision support.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and other initiatives as directed by senior leadership.
- Collaborate with other finance functions to ensure overall compliance with company financial policies and best practices.
- US Entries - Equity, Cost Plus,Intercompany Elimination, All tax entries provided by Tax team
Qualifications & Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification is a must.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, and statutory compliance.
- Hands-on experience in managing accounting, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience in leading statutory audits and managing tax compliance in India.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Possessing excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
