Job Description:

The Sr. Analyst II, User Assistance is responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation for our software products and solutions. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and quality assurance analysts, to gather information and ensure that the documentation accurately reflects the product features and functionality.

  • Produce and maintain end-user content, such as online and/or web help, context sensitive help, user guides, white papers, etc.
  • Follow the established DITA model.
  • Create and manage sub-maps and manage high-level maps.
  • Implement reuse strategy.
  • Research the available product information from requirements, specifications and user stories.
  • Identify gaps in existing content and propose remediation plans for improving and documenting the processes associated with the document deliverables.
  • Participate in review cycles and team/project related meetings and activities.
  • Participate in peer review of content
  • Participate and assist in development and definition content mapping.
  • Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communications, or a related field.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.

Experience Required:

  • 4+ years’ technical writing.
  • Experience with Oxygen XML or similar XML authoring, development, and collaboration tools.
  • Experience with dynamic content delivery.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of: DITA, XML, minimalism, topic-based and role-based content development and best practices. SDLC and DDLC. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat. Topic-based writing, minimalism and Agile methodology and basic knowledge of peer editing. Principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Skill in: Communication (verbal, written), analytical and research skills, organized, attention to detail.
  • Ability to: Demonstrate adaptability as assignments change and evolve while maintaining quality of product documentation. Work in a fast-paced environment; stay organized, prioritize workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines. Translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling, customer-centric copy and content for various client channels.
