THE OPPORTUNITY:
As a Senior Data Engineer with a focus on Informatica platform administration and development, you will be responsible for designing, managing, optimizing, and maintaining our Informatica platform. You will play a key role in both the administrative tasks and the development of data integration and ETL processes. Working closely with our data engineering and analytics teams, you will ensure seamless data flow and support our business intelligence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the Informatica platform, ensuring its availability, performance, and scalability.
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using Informatica tools including Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
- Optimize and troubleshoot data integration processes to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Integrate various data sources, including on-premises and cloud-based systems.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation processes.
- Manage user access, permissions, and security settings within the Informatica environment.
- Document ETL processes and maintain up-to-date records of data integration workflows.
- Stay current with Informatica updates, new features, and best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers on best practices and technical skills.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to data integration and engineering initiatives.
- Implement DevOps practices to automate and streamline platform management tasks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of the Informatica platform.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience working with data integration tools, including at least 3 years in Informatica platform administration and development.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
- Strong understanding of data integration concepts, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading and managing teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive strategic initiatives.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell Scripting.
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Experience in Agile development methodologies.
- Proven track record of successful leadership in data engineering projects.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code).
- Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.
