Your role in the Team

We are looking for a Senior developer to join our one of the Core Dealing teams in Bangalore. Core Dealing teams are responsible for managing Order and Trade execution for IG's products. All teams within Core Dealing world work closely to deliver CD Modernization projects and commercial projects. You will be responsible for developing high performant, low latency systems where reliability and accuracy are paramount for delivering high-quality software within IG's most complex business domain.

What you’ll do

• Guide team on aspect of Engineering Best Practices and process.

• Work closely with Architects and TL to lead the architectural implementation within and across CD teams.

• Required to work on unfamiliar technologies and code bases and acts as a trouble-shooter.

• Collaborate with other CD Teams, architects, product managers, and stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.

• Drive the technical direction and architecture of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.

• Own features and solutions along with modernization plans for the tech stack you are responsible for.

• Ensure your team meets IG’s software quality standards and adopts engineering best practices.

• Conduct regular code reviews and provide feedback to team members to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and best practices.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, mitigate risks, and ensure successful project outcomes.

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and leverage this knowledge to drive technical innovation and improvement.

• Act as a liaison between the technical team and stakeholders, providing regular updates, status reports, and addressing any concerns or issues.

What you will need for the role

• Extensive knowledge of Java EE and related technologies: Spring Framework, JMS, etc.

• 7+ years of experience in back end technologies.

• Understanding of how JVM works.

• Hands on experience in design pattern, Spring, SpringBoot, ORM's like Hibernate, Kafka , AMQ, TDD, BDD Bamboo/Jenkins Good to have knowledge on Docker, Kubernetes and front end technologies.

• Knowledge about distributed cache like coherence, Ignite is preferred 
• Strong knowledge about JMS and JMX is preferred
• Knowledge about event driven system is a added advantage.

• Experience of developing RESTful web services using Apache Tomcat.

• Firm believer in the value of agile development methodologies, Test Driven Development, and Continuous Delivery.

• Quick to assimilate new ideas and concepts – productive from day one in the role.

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in an Agile development environment.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results.

• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and delivery.

• Experience with large-scale, enterprise-level software development projects.
