Role Description

Aa a DevOps Engineer you will handle the integration of development and operations teams, automates deployment pipelines, manages infrastructure, configures and maintains servers, and ensures smooth software delivery cycles. You will also work with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, and various cloud platforms to streamline the development process and enhance collaboration between teams.

Your key responsibilities

• Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate the process of building, testing, and deploying software.
• Managing infrastructure using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate provisioning and configuration.
• Setting up monitoring and logging solutions to track system performance, detect issues, and troubleshoot problems proactively.
• Managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure, including services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Documenting processes, configurations, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure continuity in case of personnel changes or system failures.
• Managing and maintaining configuration settings across different environments to ensure consistency and reliability.

Your skills and experience

• 10+ years’ experience as a practicing hands-on DevOps engineer
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Experience with tools like Docker, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, Liquibase, or CloudFormation for automating infrastructure provisioning.
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI to automate testing and deployment processes.
• Containerization Familiarity with Docker for creating, deploying, and managing containers, as well as orchestration tools like Kubernetes for container management at scale.
• Configuration Management with expertise in tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to automate configuration management and ensure consistency across environments.
• Proficiency in Git for version control, branching, and merging code changes.
• Monitoring and Logging with ability to set up monitoring and logging systems using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or Splunk to track system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services Azure VMs, Google Compute Engine, etc.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles to promote iterative development and continuous improvement.
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, Groovy or PowerShell for automating tasks and workflows.
• Understanding of security best practices for infrastructure and applications, including network security, encryption, access control, and compliance standards.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with development, operations, and other cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and improve processes.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate at senior level.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field
