What you will do
- Firmware Testing Strategy & Execution:
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for embedded firmware.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing of firmware.
- Define and execute automated and manual test protocols for embedded systems.
- Quality Assurance Leadership:
- Lead the QA efforts in identifying, tracking, and resolving firmware defects.
- Establish and maintain quality standards and best practices for firmware testing.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Collaborate with firmware and hardware development teams to ensure seamless integration and testing.
- Prepare detailed test reports and document testing methodologies.
- Assist in creating and maintaining user manuals, release notes, and quality documentation.
- Tools & Technologies:
- Implement and maintain test automation frameworks for firmware validation.Utilize debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other hardware test equipment.
- Work with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure firmware meets industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
- Validate the performance of BESS in diverse operational scenarios, including thermal and load conditions.
What you need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in QA testing for embedded firmware, preferably in the energy, automotive, or industrial domains.
- Strong knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Modbus, RS485, I2C, SPI).Proficiency in using test automation frameworks for firmware.
- Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools and firmware testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices.
- Experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS) and power electronics testing
- Knowledge of energy storage technologies.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for test automation
- Understanding of safety and compliance standards, such as UL, IEC, or ANSI would be a plus
