About the Role:
As a Lead Frontend Engineer at Kenko, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of wellness technology. This is more than just a coding role—it's an opportunity to make a tangible impact on thousands of fitness and wellness businesses while accelerating your career growth. You'll own critical parts of our platform architecture, mentor talented engineers, and help us build the most intuitive and powerful SaaS solution in the wellness industry.
What You'll Do
• Own and architect scalable, high-performance frontend systems using React and NextJS that serve thousands of users daily
• Lead technical decisions around frontend architecture, state management, performance optimization, and design patterns
• Drive the implementation of best practices for accessibility (WCAG standards), performance monitoring, and code quality
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and code reviews
• Mentor and guide a team of frontend engineers, conducting code reviews and fostering a culture of technical excellence
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless user experiences
• Champion modern testing practices including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies
• Translate complex business requirements into elegant, maintainable frontend solutions
What You'll Bring
• 5+ years of frontend development experience with a proven track record of launching successful products to production
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring frontend engineering teams
• Deep expertise in React, NextJS, and TypeScript with strong understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries
• Strong focus on performance optimization, web vitals, and creating fast, responsive user experiences
• Proficiency with automated testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright)
• Experience with state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, or similar)
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and frontend-backend integration
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and modern development workflows
• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments and wearing multiple hats
