As a member of the electronics hardware team as Senior Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for hands-on design and development, architecting, lab testing, and troubleshooting electronics circuits and systems. You will join a team dedicated to raising the standards for advanced electronics and contribute to their continuous improvement. You will help build robust electronics impervious to the hostility of various application environments.
Responsibilities- Design and development of digital and analog electronics for control of high power electronics systems, Charger DC to DC convertor and Motor controller application
- Start to finish ownership of control boards and other electronics – from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing.
- Collaborative work with mechanical, digital control, thermal design, and manufacturing test engineers.
- Product level electrical design including component selection, branch circuit design and insulation coordination.
Requirements- 5+ years of demonstrated successful experience in electrical engineering within a product design and manufacturing environment.
- Automotive/Charger design know-how & familiarity with AIS Standards, Functional safety (ISO26262).
- Experience with Altium Designer for Schematic & PCB layout design.
- Run simulations using tools like LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, PSIM, and thermal/EMI modeling tools.
- Experience with DC-DC, AC-DC topologies (buck, boost, LLC, flyback, phase-shift full bridge, interleaved designs)
- Design control algorithms for DC-DC power stages (voltage/current-mode control, digital control).
- High-voltage (400V) EV architectures
- Magnetics design and component derating.
- Start to finish ownership of control boards and other electronics – from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing.
- Experience with high current power semiconductor selection (IGBTs, MOSFET’s, and Diodes), gate drive and protection circuit design.
- Familiar with schematic capture and power converter circuit simulation tools.
- Experience in the selection and use of DSPs, microcontrollers, and programmable logic devices and their peripheral circuitry (signal conditioning, board-level power supplies).
- Experience in supervision of PCB layout for minimal stray inductance and capacitance, placement strategies for better manufacturability, power/signal plane definition, and EMC optimization.
- Knowledge in environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for Automotive, Industrial & Residential applications.
- Collaborate with BMS HW/FW engineering team to successfully to design, validate and deploy testing tools.
- Perform DFMEA, FMEDA, HARA, Worst Case Analysis (WCA), Component Stress Sheets.
- Product level electrical design including component selection, branch circuit design and insulation coordination.
- Experience in designing and supervising circuit design and PCB layout for EMI/EMC compliance independently with little to no supervision.
- Bachelor/Masters in ECE/EEE or relevant field.
