Overview

The Technology COO organization at Salesforce is dedicated to driving operational excellence and innovation across our technology teams. We support a broad range of functions including Content Experience, Learning & Enablement, Agile teams and more. Our mission is to empower the Technology organization with the programs, enablement, data, tools, and insights they need to succeed.
We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Analyst/Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data infrastructure and solutions that support our diverse organizational needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create reports, dashboards, frameworks, architectures, and data strategies that drive informed decision-making and operational efficiency. You will also champion the use of AI and agents to accelerate our ability to build and deploy data-related solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines from various data sources into multiple data warehouses.

  • Design and enhance data models to accommodate evolving data needs and ensure data quality.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

  • Implement data governance and best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance.

  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance and scalability.

  • Develop end-to-end solutions using internal and open-source ETL frameworks.

  • Automate and improve existing data processes for quicker turnaround and higher productivity.

  • Act as a liaison with internal teams to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • At least 8 years of experience in a data engineering/analyst role.

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce products such as Tableau and Data Cloud is preferred.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.

  • Hands-on familiarity with big data technologies (ex. Hadoop).

  • Experience in building ETL solutions using tools or custom ETL frameworks.

  • Proficiency in Python with at least 5 years of scripting experience; shell scripting is a plus.

  • Good knowledge of database performance concepts such as indices, segmentation, projections, and partitions.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

  • Experience working with supporting teams and senior leaders in seeing the value of data-driven decision making.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a keen ability to partner with global teams.
