Technical Skills:

  • Digital Engineering Expertise: Deep understanding of digital transformation technologies, including cloud computing, big data, AI/ML, and IoT.

  • Core IT Knowledge: Proficiency in IT infrastructure, including server management, networking, cybersecurity, and database management.
  • Software Development: Experience with software engineering principles, development methodologies (Agile, DevOps), and programming languages and scripting (e.g. Angular, C#, Python).
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and its applications
  • System Integration: Ability to design and oversee the integration of disparate systems and applications.
  • Data Analytics: Knowledge of data analysis, visualization tools, and techniques for deriving actionable insights from data.

Leadership and Management Skills

Strategic Planning: Capability to develop and implement strategic plans for digital and IT initiatives aligned with business goals.

Project Management: Strong skills in managing large-scale projects, including scope, budget, and timeline management, with certification in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Prince2) often preferred.

Team Leadership: Experience in leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and mentoring staff to achieve their full potential.

Change Management: Expertise in managing organizational change related to digital transformation and IT upgrades. Innovation: A forward-thinking mindset with a passion for exploring new technologies and methodologies.

Critical responsibilities

  • Articulate and execute a Digital Engineering and Core IT strategy that is aligned with the GTP overall business strategy, goals, culture, and vision.
  • Ensure the delivery of multiple strategic products ensuring the deliverables are brought in on time and within budget, while meeting client and business goals.
  • Build a first-class software engineering and IT team that can scale as the demand from the business grows.
  • Constantly improve team productivity, refine agile practices, and create methods to increase the efficiency of the high-performing team.
  • Ensure that Digital Engineering and core IT functions are executed in line with service level requirements while leveraging local leadership and adopting global / regional best practices.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and focus on the important foundation principles: customer experience, agility, DevOps, Fast outcomes, product mindset.
  • Provide on-the-ground leadership through the establishment of governance, management routines and strong partnerships with CAE global businesses and corporate function leaders.
  • Partner with Human Resource team to attract, engage, develop, and retain a high performing and diverse DE & IT workforce that supports culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Establish performance objectives for the teams and analyze existing operating models to generate improvement ideas for advancing service levels, productivity, and resiliency across DE & IT functions.
  • Drive effective resource planning across DE & IT functions in India, optimize current budgets and planned investments on tools, processes, & methodologies for enhancing Customer Experience.
