As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Auxiliary Systems, you will be responsible for Leading & driving ITO engineering & VDR finalizations associated with Gas turbine auxiliaries, which includes Mechanical and Systems (Process) domains. Prime accountability will be on quality and on time delivery.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Analyzing customer requirements & specifications for every single opportunity globally where Baker Hughes (BH) is bidding with a product driven by Gas Turbine and providing comments & exceptions (C&E) that can enable BH to win orders.
- Responsible for finalization of VDR documents with help of external engineering companies for systems & mechanical acting as a technical integrator between customer & project engineer.
- Understanding the BH proposed scope of supply by reading the ITO P&ID / GA drawing / SoS checklist and subsequent discussions (kick off meeting) with the Application engineer (AE).
- Understand the local country regulations (TRS) [example : Australian, Brazil, Russian etc] and the international certifications especially related to FPSO/ FPUs [example : ABS, DNV, SOLAS etc].
- Analyzing customer specifications related to Mechanical, Structural, Process, Piping / valves, ADV, Painting, Pressure vessels, Ergonomics etc and identify gaps with respect to BH available solutions and BH proposed SoS.
- Evaluating if the gaps (solutions/ designs not available in BH TPS GT portfolio) can be materialised within the project cycle and Highlight the potential cost & delivery impacts to the AE.
- Providing sound technical justification (exceptions) on why BH solution is preferred against certain customer requirements
- Providing technical clarification where required, to make customer understand the BH products & solutions.
- Responsible for grooming & developing engineers who could perform the role independently through right trainings & on job mentoring
- Responsible for connecting with NPI team to understand the on-going developments on new BH machines (LT5, LT12, LT16, LM6000 etc) & ATQ configurations (Available to Quote) and align the proposed scope of supply in-line with the developments.
- Responsible for collaborating with OEM vendors to analyse the customer requirements against the OEM design & capabilities and co-ordinate preparation of C&E for specific items.
- Responsible for cross functional co-ordination with ITO P&ID team, ITO GA team & ITO feasibility team to have alignment across the scope of supply proposed.
- Responsible for participation in customer meetings to clarify / reinforce BH technical solutions to customers
- Embracing Digital culture and supporting the creation of engineering tools to achieve positive productivity.
Fuel your Passion
- Have Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree from an accredited university or College in Mechanical Engineering.
- Have 10+ years of experience in being in requisition projects as design engineer in Auxiliary systems (Preferably Mech).
- Have Reading & understanding process P&IDs.
- Have Understanding Turbo GA drawings, plot plan & customer building layouts.
- Have Minimum understanding on structural design including machinery baseplates, ladders and platforms.
- Have Fundamentals concepts on major equipment like pressure vessels (filters, scrubbers, boosters), Heat exchangers (air or water cooled), Pumps, Accumulators , Filter house, Exhaust ducts & stacks etc.
- Have Strong basics on piping, valves and pipe supports (sizing, selection , routing ).
- Have Knowledge on Codes & Standards related to O&G (API 614, API 616, API 617, ASME B 31.3, NACE MR0175 etc..).
- Have Curiosity to learn the Systems design & packaging arrangement of various BH Gas Turbine models [Heavy duty including bigger frames Fr 7, Fr 9, Aero derivatives (PGT , LM ), New gen LT series GT].
