Based in India, the successful candidate will join our Support Services team and will be responsible for maintaining and managing client's Postgres databases; working as an extension of the clients in house DBA team providing guidance, execution and follow best practices.
Our team deliver effective database services to clients, while observing industry-standard security policies and tools. Engineers are required to work on varied OS platforms, versions of Postgres and HA solutions. Developing solutions for monitoring and resolving/performing proactive actions to prevent outages are a key responsibility.
What your impact will be -
- Responsible for understanding operational requirements including hardware, architecting, configuring, integrating, and maintaining mission-critical Production PostgreSQL databases.
- Responsible for all backup, recovery, PITR replicating
- Experience on community-supported tools like Pgbadger, Slony, PGadmin, Pgpool, Pgbouncer.
- Clusters and upgrading/migrating various PostgreSQL database version.
- Database administration and tuning databases
- Develop database automation scripts and maintenance.
- Provide technical guidance for integration, testing, design, development, planning of new production systems/databases
- Contribute to improving and creating DBA policies, procedures and standards.
What you will bring -
- Must have 5 to 10 years of strong experience in PostgreSQL DBA / Support
- Hands on experience in Postgresql architecture, backup and replication methods
- 2 + Years of working with cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Hands-on experience in virtualization technologies (Kubernetes / Docker)
- Hands-on experience on Shell scripting & SQL query tuning
- Experience in monitoring, managing and maintaining mission-critical 24x7 production databases along with installation and configuration of the database, implementing high-availability solutions, setup monitoring tools, setup database security, optimizing resources, etc.
- Good communication skills to handle diverse stakeholders
- Good to have: Experience on EnterpriseDB products and Certifications (OCP certifications)
