We're looking for a Senior Privacy Counsel - Trust to join our dynamic and collaborative Privacy team at Atlassian! You will be an individual contributor reporting directly to the Director of Privacy - Trust.
What you'll do
- Help build Atlassian's privacy compliance function globally with a "customer first" approach
- Partner with teams across Atlassian to understand and advise on the impact of emerging privacy laws and regulations, and help prepare strategies to respond to them
- Collaborate closely with Governance, Risk & Compliance on industry leading certifications, the implementation of risk-based privacy controls, and the creation of privacy policies and standards
Your background
- 6+ years of experience practicing law
- Necessary qualifications to practice law in your local jurisdiction
- Knowledge of applicable privacy laws and regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) and industry frameworks (ISO 27701 and SOC2)
- CIPP certifications highly valued but not required
- Experience distilling complex legal and technical concepts into clear language
- Demonstrated growth mindset and the ability to succeed in a dynamic and remote-friendly workplace spread across the globe
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $192,800 - $257,000
Zone B: $173,500 - $231,300
Zone C: $160,000 - $213,300
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
