Plum seeks a highly motivated and experienced Senior Product Designer to join our creative team. Our ideal candidate is a collaborative, efficient designer who thrives in leading projects, mentoring junior designers, and shaping our design strategy through structured problem-solving and meticulous visual design.
This role requires 4+ years of experience to qualify.
Design Leadership and Mentorship:
- Set standards for hand-offs and meticulously build design components.
- Coach and guide less experienced designers, helping them to deliver impactful and high-quality work.
- Provide insightful feedback, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
System and Visual Design:
- Design coherent systems, rather than standalone interfaces, keeping our broader product context in mind.
- Reflect our design principles in your work.
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail when refining interface interactions for a highly polished result.
- Act as a steward of our design system, maintaining and evolving its visual and interaction language.
Prototyping:
- Align closely with engineering to develop functional prototypes and find viable design solutions.
Problem Solving:
- Grasp our customers’ motivations to guide your design process.
- Proactively identify novel problems and opportunities to solve within your group.
Communication:
- Use storytelling elements to make your work more engaging and comprehensible.
- Communicate effectively with group and organizational leaders, influencing their thinking and decisions.
Ownership and Autonomy:
- Use your expertise in concept design, system design, and interaction design to manage and solve ambiguous projects independently.
