The Senior Product Motion Designer will create motion-led experiences, enhance product interactions, and collaborate on brand storytelling across multiple platforms.
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Senior Product Motion Designer, you will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and brand teams to shape motion-led product experiences for millions of users. This role involves crafting high-quality motion across UI interactions, flows, and brand moments - driving both usability and storytelling. You will contribute to the evolution of our motion system, define how motion elevates product and brand expression, and explore the use of AI tools to accelerate creative workflows. Your work will directly enhance the clarity, delight, and emotional resonance of the JioHotstar experience across mobile, TV, and web platforms.
ABOUT THE TEAM:
Design is integral to shaping the user experience at JioHotstar. We have 4 key areas of focus - Product Design, UX Research, Design Standards and Creative Studio. We are a closely-knit team of 30+ people at the moment, who work across the spectrum of design from deriving insight from data, designing interfaces and prototypes, and testing with users to motion graphics and illustrations.
REPORTING TO: Staff Product Designer
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design motion-led experiences that enhance product flows - using motion to bring clarity, rhythm, and emotional depth to interactions across onboarding, feedback, and key moments
- Craft high-quality motion content in collaboration with product, brand, and marketing - spanning UI interactions, prototypes, animations, videos, and internal showcases
- Adapt motion across surfaces - mobile, TV, web - and contexts like engagement, communications, and onboarding, always aligning with user needs and business goals
- Contribute to the motion system - define principles (easing, choreography, timing), evolve the motion style guide, and ensure motion aligns with the broader design language and brand expression
- Champion visual and interaction excellence - ensure designs are clean, legible, intuitive, and visually world-class; prototype and test motion with precision and fidelity for production
- Leverage AI tools thoughtfully - use emerging tools (Runway, Firefly, Midjourney, etc.) to accelerate ideation, prototyping, and creative exploration without compromising on craft.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:
- Proven ability to work across platforms and surfaces, translating abstract ideas into expressive, functional design
- Hands-on expertise with motion and design tools like After Effects, Figma, Adobe Illustrator, and prototyping platforms
- Working knowledge of motion implementation tools such as Lottie, Rive, Principle, etc., to bridge motion intent with real-world execution
- Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., Dall-E, Adobe Firefly, Runway, Midjourney) to accelerate exploration and production
- Solid grasp of visual and interaction design principles layout, composition, typography, color, hierarchy, and user-centered design
- Ability to contribute to and scale motion systems within a broader design language
- Strong communicator who can clearly articulate motion rationale and partner effectively with designers, engineers, and product teams
- Experience with 3D tools (Blender, Cinema 4D) for advanced motion or illustrative work is a bonus
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 3–5 years of experience in motion, visual, or interaction design with a portfolio that reflects strong craft, storytelling, and systems thinking
