Lead and coach multiple cross-functional engineering teams at enterprise level, facilitate and improve Scrum ceremonies, drive scaled-Agile practices, remove cross-team impediments, track delivery metrics in Jira, partner with Product Owners on backlog readiness, and raise Agile maturity across the organization in a regulated environment.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master to serve as an expert facilitator, coach, and servant-leader across multiple cross-functional engineering teams. This is not a single-team, ceremony-running position. The successful candidate will operate at an enterprise level, removing organizational bottlenecks, protecting delivery teams from external disruption, and actively raising Agile maturity across the wider technology function.
This role sits within a fast-paced, regulated environment where delivery discipline, stakeholder alignment, and data-driven decision-making are critical to success.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate and continuously improve core Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review, Retrospectives) across multiple squads
- Partner closely with Product Owners on backlog refinement, story slicing, and prioritization to ensure a healthy, delivery-ready backlog
- Track and report delivery metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time, predictability) using Jira, and translate these into actionable insights for leadership
- Identify, escalate, and resolve cross-team and enterprise-level impediments before they impact delivery timelines
- Coach teams and Product Owners on Agile principles, self-organization, and continuous improvement
- Shield teams from scope creep, ad hoc requests, and organizational noise that threaten sprint commitments
- Drive Agile maturity assessments and roadmaps across multiple teams, identifying where coaching or process change is needed
- Collaborate with other Scrum Masters, Delivery Leads, and Engineering Managers to align ways of working across the wider program or Agile Release Train
- Support scaled delivery ceremonies (PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos) where applicable
- Champion data-informed retrospectives and continuous improvement culture at both team and program level
- 5–7+ years of experience in Agile delivery roles, with a strong grounding in technical SDLC (software engineering lifecycle, not just process facilitation)
- Proven experience managing or coaching multiple concurrent teams simultaneously
- Advanced Agile certification required: A-CSM (Advanced Certified ScrumMaster) or PSM II (Professional Scrum Master II); SAFe SPC/RTE or PSM III is a plus
- Hands-on experience with Jira for sprint tracking, reporting, and velocity/delivery metrics
- Demonstrated experience operating within scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, or enterprise Kanban)
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior business and technology leadership in a regulated or enterprise environment
- Prior experience within [Banking / Fintech / Telecom] or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred
- Excellent conflict resolution, facilitation, and coaching skills
- Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD practices and how they intersect with Agile delivery is an advantage.
