About the role:
Samsara Technologies India Private Limited Technologies India Private Limited is looking for a Senior Security Engineer focusing on Systems Assessment to join our team.You’ll focus on reviewing and optimizing the security configurations of key tools within Samsara’s corporate environment and conduct security reviews of internal application proposals, ensuring they align with best practices and organizational standards. This role is key to maintaining a strong security posture across our systems and applications.
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in our Bangalore office and 2 days working remotely. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and execution of a security assessment program to review and assess technical configurations of common tools.
- Conduct detailed security assessments of internal applications, providing clear recommendations for approval or denial to security leadership.
- Ensure all systems and tools align with security benchmarks, industry best practices, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address identified gaps, implement improvements, and enhance overall security posture.
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, findings, and recommendations to support compliance and audit requirements.

Minimum requirements for the role:
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering, with a focus on systems assessment or configuration auditing.
- Strong understanding of security benchmarks and best practices for enterprise tools like Okta, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Salesforce.
- Proven ability to conduct detailed security assessments, identify gaps, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001 is preferred.
- TOEFLS iBT score of 94 or higher (C1).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Hands-on experience with automation tools or scripts for security assessments, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO 27001, StateRAMP).
- A background in evaluating and securing third-party integrations and APIs.
- Active contributions to the security community, such as conference talks, publications, or open-source projects.
- Additional certifications like CCSK, CCSP, or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Okta Certified Professional).
- Advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or related field) are a plus.
