We are seeking a dynamic Senior Backend Engineer with 6-10+ years of experience to join Parspec's talented engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will architect scalable distributed systems, optimize high-performance APIs, and lead technical excellence while mentoring others. As a Senior Software Engineer 2, you will drive complex backend initiatives end-to-end, leverage AI-powered development tools, and ensure rock-solid reliability across Parspec's AI-powered construction intelligence platform.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Frontend, Search, and AI teams to transform business requirements into production-grade systems, owning the full lifecycle from architecture through deployment and optimization.

• System Architecture: Design and build scalable, distributed systems using microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native AWS patterns.

• Database Mastery: Optimize PostgreSQL/MySQL (schema design, replication, query optimization) and MongoDB (document modeling, sharding, indexing).

• Search & Caching: Implement Elasticsearch for large-scale indexing/querying and Redis for distributed caching strategies.

• API Development: Design and consume RESTful/GraphQL APIs with strong security (OAuth, JWT, RBAC) and performance characteristics.

• Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy and optimize AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS) with high availability and fault tolerance.

• Event Streaming: Build message brokers/streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS) for real-time data processing.

• Observability & Monitoring: Implement distributed tracing, logging, and monitoring frameworks for production excellence.

• AI-Powered Development: Leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Codeium) for coding, refactoring, testing, and documentation acceleration.

• Technical Leadership: Lead architecture discussions, mentor senior engineers, and influence cross-team technical decisions.

• Performance Engineering: Drive performance tuning, load balancing, caching, and indexing for low-latency, high-throughput systems.

Your systems will power Parspec's AI-driven construction intelligence platform, processing massive datasets with sub-second latency for millions of users. By architecting fault-tolerant, scalable backend infrastructure, you'll enable real-time search, data enrichment, and seamless frontend experiences that drive construction industry transformation. Your optimizations directly impact platform reliability and business scalability.

You are a senior backend architect with 6-10+ years of experience who thrives in high-scale, distributed environments. You excel at solving complex system problems, mentoring teams, and delivering production systems that scale effortlessly with business growth.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6-10+ years of backend experience with Go, Python, and/or Node.js

• Strong expertise designing scalable distributed systems and microservices

• Deep PostgreSQL/MySQL experience (schema design, query optimization, replication) ● Hands-on MongoDB (document modeling, indexing, sharding)

• Production Elasticsearch experience for large-scale search

• Redis expertise including distributed caching strategies

• AWS cloud-native architecture (EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS)

• RESTful/GraphQL API design and security implementation (OAuth, JWT, RBAC) ● Message brokers experience (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS)

• CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment strategies

• Monitoring, logging, distributed tracing frameworks

• Event-driven architecture and service orchestration experience

• Performance tuning and load balancing at scale

• AI-powered development tools in production workflows
