The primary role of the Software Engineer is to provide technical and domain expertise in the design and delivery of software and infrastructure.

The Payments Engineering organization builds and maintains the highly scalable, available, secure, and compliant payments platform of PayPal. This platform helps PayPal’s consumers and merchants to move and manage their money. This role is for the payment planning team, which is part of the Payments platform team.

Your day to day:

Understanding of core products and the organization

Develop prototypes and simulations of innovative improvements to the services infrastructure and functionality

Focused on developing code. Code is well-commented and typically improves after one or more code reviews

Will be Involved in discussion with Tech Leads and architect about development plan and design; Produces code that is sufficiently supported by test units

Has a basic understanding of technical concepts required for specialized field

Work with engineers and other cross functional teams including Research, Project

Time Management, Quality Assurance, Operations etc. to develop great software that meets market needs with respect to functionality, reliability, performance, scalability
What you need to bring:

5+ years experience building software or web applications with object-oriented or functional programming languages.

Programming skills - Java

Passionate for innovation and technology.

Good understanding and experience of web services and related standards like REST/JSON.
