About the team:

MX QA team takes pride in ensuring the quality of end-to-end functionality of the entire Meraki MX product line. This team works very closely with the MX Dash development and MX Firmware teams to ensure any new changes deployed to the Dashboard are of very high quality. The team prevents deterioration in customer experience by performing manual and automation tests on networks that are based on customer deployments when any new features and changes are introduced. The team works on, but is not limited to, testing functionality, customer use-cases, integration testing, scalability testing, stress and longevity testing. 

About the Job:

Meraki is looking for a Software QA Engineer to join to support qualifying our SD-WAN product offerings. You will focus on end-to-end testing, to ensure our latest hardware appliances and dashboard work together seamlessly. As a Software QA Engineer, your responsibility includes designing and building testbeds, creating and implementing functional tests that resemble customer use-case for SD-WAN and Security solutions, and contributing to industry-leading technologies in the cloud ecosystem. Being a Software QA engineer, you need to develop robust validations for current and future customer use cases. As a part of a geographically distributed team, you will collaborate with multiple Meraki engineering teams and stakeholders around the globe. To be successful in this role, you will need to have motivation, curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and experience with networking technologies and automation as a breath.

In addition to test planning and performing testing on large-scale networks you will be part of implementing initiatives and enhancements to optimize and alleviate the team. You will gain firsthand knowledge about the quality of the changes and be able to guide the team in improving the quality before we start deployments.

What You Will Be Doing

 Develop a comprehensive understanding of the use cases/workflows of the Meraki solution deployed in the customer environment.

 Participate in requirements/design discussions with Product managers & development team.

 Design a test strategy document for the Meraki dashboard features and collaborate with other QA and development teams to cover all aspects of the features being developed.

 Execution of tests and reporting test results, and test metrics pertaining to these tests.

 Develop UI automation scripts and testsuites

 Participate in exploring new test tools and methodologies for improving functional qualification over various cloud platforms.

 Participate in analyzing the test gaps that resulted in customer issues and incorporate them into the test strategy.

 Be collaborative with Senior engineers / Leads in developing test-plan and reviewing your work.

 Invest in innovation and out-of-the-box thinking to foster the originality of ideas to productize them.

You are an ideal candidate if you have:

 8+ years of experience in Software Quality assurance with at least 1+ years of testing in routing or SD-WAN domain.

 Good knowledge of SDWAN, Security, Layer-2(VLAN/802.1Q), or Layer-3 (BGP/IP/OSPF/VPN/IPSec/NAT) and are at ease to ramp up quickly on new technologies and concepts.

Working experience with IPoE - IPv6 and DS

 Working experience with any one of containerized or public and/or private cloud platforms such as Kubernetes, Dockers, AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud, ESXi, NSX-T, Nutanix, OpenStack, etc

 Experience with UI automation tools like Selenium or Cypress, etc.

 Proficiency in writing quality code with one of the programming or scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, etc.

 Good understanding of customer deployments and applying those learnings to in-house testing and validations.

 Practical communication skills and proven track record of collaboration with stakeholders.

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings.

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
