The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
This Role reports to the Cloud, CNF & DC Network Supervisor.
The Network Data Engineer / Specialist will provide design, build, installation, support and monitoring/management of the Solventum’s Routers and Switches in Datacenters. In this role the engineer will support Solventum’s Network Space that includes Various technologies like Cisco IOS devices, Nexus devices, Cisco ISE, Routing Protocols like BGP & OSPF, DMVPN, DNS, TCP/IP etc.
The role of the team includes planning, designing, implementing, managing and supporting technology devices and services alongside strategic managed service partners.
Technical Proficiency and Expertise:
• Scopes and defines complex tasks that require independence, sound judgment and creative problem solving.
• Requires experience in Routing & switching (Cisco) and a working knowledge of related disciplines.
• Requires experience in managing COLO Datacenters.
• General experience across broad spectrum of Cloud technologies and Automation is a plus (ELB, EC2, Terraform, Scripting, Python etc.)
Technical Skills:
5 - 7 years relevant technical experience in the following areas
- Experience configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting Cisco Routers and Switches (IOS and Nexus)
- Extensive experience supporting, deploying, and troubleshooting Nexus Switches (7K & 9K) in Datacenters (Features like VPC, VDC’s, Fex, Fabric connections etc.)
- Experience & Understanding on the WAN Technologies like SDWAN, MPLS and DMVPN.
- Experience in configuring and Managing routing protocols like BGP and OSPF.
- AWS cloud experience would be a plus.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written to management.
Personal Interaction:
- Excellent customer-oriented attitude
- Strong organisational, communication (written and verbal) and administrative skills
- Ability to work with & manage vendors
- Good interpersonal skills & ability to work in virtual teams (often self-directed)
- Ability to manage high degree of multi-tasking.
