About the Role
The Senior Systems Engineer position involves performing an array of system support tasks and projects centered around a core development tooling stack of leading tools, such as Atlassian, GitHub, Slack, Amazon Web Services, New Relic, and others. The Senior Systems Engineer will operate in a hybrid engineering role, working between software development and application management to help optimize and automate key processes. Responsibilities include responding to system management alerts, supporting tickets (via Jira and ITSM tooling), maintaining the availability and integrity of the tooling services, and driving automation and innovation.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain documentation for business support, team processes and procedures, workflows, application lifecycle information, and more.

Configure dashboards and reporting tools for use within an operational environment, such as Grafana or Kibana.

Troubleshoot and triage issues efficiently while communicating escalations and outcomes clearly.

Share knowledge with the team to ensure issues are flagged and resolved with minimal intervention.

Facilitate and execute regular planned maintenance and document all actions taken.

Notify internal customers and third-party service providers of issues and remediation status.

Monitor the health of tools, triage issues, and escalate when appropriate.

Manage the tool lifecycle, including scheduling and performing updates and coordinating with stakeholders.

Monitor tool vendor releases, publish upgrade roadmaps, and coordinate upgrades and testing.

Ensure all tool deployments and integrations meet corporate security requirements.
Requirements

Develop and maintain expertise in Enterprise tools managed by the tooling team.

Work collaboratively with support teams and development communities to resolve incidents and develop preventative measures.

Support development teams to drive improvements in workflow efficiencies, error reduction, cost impact, and issue resolution.

Participate in scoping and requirements gathering for assigned projects.

Contribute to the overall Technology strategy and represent customer interests.

Maintain and manage the Tooling backlog in ITSM ticket systems and Jira.
